Our pastors
AwesomeRock Church is led by Ps Peter and Ps Ejay Mbakwe, as a husband-and-wife team who have given their lives to seeing people come to know Jesus and step into all God has for them.
Ps Peter Mbakwe
Ps Peter serves as our senior pastor, leading the church with a heart to see lives tranfsormed by the Gospel and our communities reached with the hope of Jesus.
Ps Ejay Mbakwe
Ps Ejay carries a particular passion for raising up and empowering women in their faith and calling. She is the founder of iFlorish, our women's conference, where her mission is to help women discover their God-given purpose, boldly share their story, and flourish in every season of life.
Together
Peter and Ejay have been faithfully leading AwesomeRock Church for 15 years. Married for 36 years, they have three adult sons, one 'daughter-in-love' and one precious granddaughter.
Our story
AwesomeRock Church began in Hornsby with a simple mission: to love Christ, love people and reach out.
Mission & Purpose
Over the years we've grown into a vibrant, multicultural family - and today we gather across two locations, Hornsby and Guildford, as one church.
We're passionate about Jesus, devoted to one another, and committed to reaching our communities with hope.

Our Beliefs
We're part of Acts Global Churches movement - local churches across Australia, each with its own identity and expression of ministry, united as one body.
Here's what we believe:
One God
One true and living God, eternally existing in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Scripture
The divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures.
New Life
The original perfection of creation; the fallenness of humanity; and the necessity of repentance and new life by grace through faith in Christ alone.
Virgin Birth
The virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ - and His second coming and eternal reign.
Sanctification
The justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, and their future resurrection.
Baptism
Baptism by immersion, and the Lord's Supper.
Holy Spirit
The baptism of the Holy Spirit, empowering the church for its mission, with supernatural signs.
Gifts
The gifts of the Holy Spirit, given to build up the church and minister to the world.
Leadership
Christ's leadership of the church, through the ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers - for the unity, maturity and growth of the church.
Responsibility
The privilege and responsibility of wise, generous stewardship, including tithing to the local church.
Marriage
Marriage as the union of a man and a woman in a loving, committed and exclusive relationship for life.
